Your citizen service number

We need your authorisation to file returns for you. Your citizen service number (BSN) is needed to arrange this. We will never ask for your DigiD password.

You can find it on your Dutch passport, identity card or driving licence. Prefer not to share it online? Leave this blank.

How do you approve the authorisation?

If you have DigiD, sign in to DigiD Machtigen to approve the request. If you prefer not to do this online, a letter with a code can be sent to your home. You then share that code with us.

What does the authorisation cover?

Authorisations apply to specific matters, such as VAT, income tax, payroll taxes or financial affairs. We only request what is needed and keep track of the expiry date. You can revoke an authorisation yourself.

Sole trader or BV: what is the difference?

For a sole trader, freelancer or general partnership authorisation may use your personal DigiD. For a Dutch BV the organisation is a separate taxpayer and arranges its own eHerkenning.
